Remember all the dire hype with Y2K? Many held their breath and their technology tight to their chests. Midnight came and **poof** nothing. “Huh? What? That was it?” We forgot and moved on like that crush on Patrick Swazye after watching “Dirty Dancing.” (Well, some of us have moved on.)
Windows XP will lose Microsoft’s support on April 9th. That does not mean your computer will stop working if your operating system is Windows XP.

Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr…After awhile these crazy words enter our vocabulary, sometimes without our even understanding what they are. Blog by blog you and I will walk through each of these websites, discuss what they might offer you, and how they work.
About a month ago, a friend decided to host a dinner party. She was inspired by the downturn in the economy and the reality that some friends were at risk of losing their jobs. Her idea was to get together a handful of smart, creative, hardworking people, most of who didn’t know each other, and see if any connections could be made. By the end of the night cell numbers and e-mail addresses were exchanged.
I know you think I’ve diverted from topic, but I haven’t…

How to Navigate the Ever Changing Landscape of Technology and Social Networking – A talk and book signing at the Senior Planet Exploration Center, 127 West 25th Street, NYC.
Apps (or applications) are programs that can be added to your smartphone or tablet. Some are free and some are not. You’ll shop for apps using the “store” provided by the manufacturer of your device which can be found on your the screen of your smartphone or tablet. There are hundreds of thousands of apps available – so shop around!
